Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in Epping this evening.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Childs Road and Dalton Road about 8.30pm after reports that three people had been shot.
On arrival police found 45-year-old Bundoora man with a suspected gunshot wound. He died at the scene.
Officers also located a 27-year=old Plumpton man and a 44-year-old man with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
They were taken to hospital for treatment.
Homicide Squad detectives will take primacy of the investigation with Armed Crime Squad assisting.
The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting are still to be determined but investigators believe the parties involved were known to each other.
The investigation is ongoing.
