One dead, one injured when car hits power pole in Sydney's north-west

A man has died and a second man has sustained multiple injuries when a car hit a power pole in Sydney’s north-west, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to Carrington Road at Londonderry about 8.50pm today, and found a sedan had left the road and struck the pole, bringing down lines.

A man travelling in the back seat sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.

A front-seat passenger sustained multiple injuries and has been taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

The driver has escaped serious injury and has also been taken to Westmead Hospital where he will be checked as a precaution and will undergo mandatory testing.

All three men are believed to be aged in their 20s and from western Sydney.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit are now on site examining the scene.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
