One dead, three seriously injured in two-vehicle crash in Inverell

A person has died following a two-vehicle crash in the state’s north today, NSW Police say.

Just after 10.30am (Saturday 21 July 2018), emergency services were called to Graman Road at Ashford, about 55km north of Inverell, after reports two cars collided head-on.

The driver and two passengers in one car were trapped for some time.

The driver died at the scene. Two passengers were freed and airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital, one in a critical condition the other in a serious condition.

A passenger in the second car was taken to Tamworth Hospital in a serious condition.

The driver was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from New England Police District, with the assistance of the Crash Investigation Unit, have attended and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
