One killed, two injured in boat and jet ski collision, NSW

A woman has died and a child has been injured after a crash between a boat and jet ski on the Mid North Coast, NSW Police say.

About 5.30pm today, a boat and a jet ski collided on the Nerong Inlet at Nerong, south of Forster.

An adult female who was on the jet ski died at the scene. Her age is not yet known.

An eight-year-old boy, who was also on the jet ski, received spinal injuries.


He has been airlifted to John Hunter Hospital for treatment. He is in a stable condition.

The skipper of the boat, a male aged 46, was also airlifted to John Hunter Hospital. His injuries are not known at this stage, but they are not believed to be life threatening.

A child on board the boat was uninjured.

Detectives from Manning/Great Lakes Local Area Command have commenced an investigation into the incident.

The Marine Area Command will take over the investigation in due course.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
