One of QLD's 'most wanted' arrested in NSW

One of Queensland’s ‘most wanted’ has been arrested near Windsor, NSW Police say.

In August 2016, Crime Stoppers Australia launched Operation ROAM: Fugitive Hunt.

The state-wide manhunt is part of an annual national campaign by police and Crime Stoppers aimed at locating and arresting 19 of Australia’s most wanted fugitives.

About 10pm on yesterday, police from the Public Order and Riot Squad were assisted by officers from the Hawkesbury LAC Proactive Crime Team in attending an address on Nightingale Street, Glossodia.

This came as a result of extensive inquiries into the whereabouts of a 29-year-old man who was listed as a target of Operation ROAM.

Officers forced entry to the home and allegedly found the man hiding under a child’s bed.

He was arrested and taken to Windsor Police Station where a warrant for his arrest was executed.

He was also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm relating to a domestic violence incident which occurred in Marayong in July 2016.

The man was refused bail and appeared before Parramatta Bail court today, where bail was again refused.

He will re-appear before Blacktown Local Court tomorrow.
