One woman dead, another injured in NSW plane crash

A female pilot has died and another female passenger is in a serious condition after a light plane crash in southwest Sydney.

Police and emergency crews are at the scene in Wedderburn near Campbelltown, where the light plane fell to bushland off Lysaght Road, shortly before 5pm on Sunday, NSW police said.

It’s believed there were two women on board the aircraft. One was pronounced dead, and the other was air-lifted to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

Police have closed Lysaght Road at Blackburn Road.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.
