Online Services in one spot with MyTRlibrary APP

Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) has launched 'MyTRlibrary', a new APP, that lets anyone with a Toowoomba Region Library card access all online services in one convenient spot.

TRC Libraries Portfolio Leader, Cr Joe Ramia said the APP would provide the more than half a million customers that visit our libraries each year with a 'one-stop-shop' for all the region's library resources and those services currently available from other content, media and service providers.

"With more than a million items loaned from our libraries including 105,000 digital items, the APP extends customers library access to mobile platforms while promoting the activities in our traditional bricks and mortar regional library operations," Cr Ramia said.

"The new service will deliver convenient customer access to individual accounts and enable loan extensions and placement, management of reservations and even pickup locations.

"Customers will be able to discover and register for the many library events that our Toowoomba Region libraries host each year.

"The APP will also allow people to better engage with the library through Social Media, particularly Facebook.

Cr Ramia said that this new service will even alert you to your nearest branch and provide directions on how to get there.

"The new system will also allow your device to act as the customers' library card and access the full range of services that our Regional Libraries provide," Cr Ramia said.

"The APP will also cater for any additional services that may become available in the future.

"This project has received financial assistance from the Queensland Government through the State Library of Queensland.

"Our library cardholders will be able to access the APP on iOS and Android operating systems and can be accessed for free through the Apple I-Store and Google Play.

Cr Ramia said that this is the next major step in advancing the wonderful customer service that our Toowoomba Region Libraries already provide."
