It's a tail as old as time: an animal up for adoption, a family in need of a furry friend and a love to last the ages.
This could be your reality with Council's Animal Care and Adoption Centre's Be My Fur-ever Valentine Sale. The sale gives residents the chance to adopt a dog, puppy, cat or kitten for 50 per cent off for the month of February.
Councillor Brodie Phillips said this was the perfect time for residents to open their hearts and homes to a new pet.
"They say that when you know, you know. All it could take to find the love of your family's life is an appointment at the Animal Care and Adoption Centre," Cr Phillips said.
"All of the puppies, dogs, kittens and cats up for adoption are ready for a long and happy life with their new owner.
"Each animal up for adoption is desexed, wormed, treated with flea and tick prevention, vet checked, microchipped and up to date with their vaccinations, as well as being temperament assessed. Our dogs and puppies have also had a ProHeart injection.
"Jump onto Council's website and take a look through the animals up for adoption – if you see a pet who would make a great addition to your family, give our team a call to schedule an appointment to meet them in person and see if sparks fly."
The Animal Care and Adoption Centre is open from Monday to Saturday by appointment only. To make an appointment, call 4272 8371.
