Opening of Australian High Commission in Tuvalu

Minister for Foreign Affairs Senator the Hon Marise Payne

Today I officially opened Australia's new High Commission in Tuvalu.

The opening of the High Commission is a significant milestone in Australia's relationship with Tuvalu and demonstrates the importance the Government places on deepening our engagement with its people and government.

The new High Commission will advance Australia's interest in ensuring a Pacific region that is secure, stable and prosperous.

It is our fourteenth diplomatic mission in the Pacific, giving Australia the largest network of diplomatic posts in the region.
