North West Metropolitan Region officers have saturated the Mount Druitt area as they target domestic violence offenders under Operation Blitz.
In August 2025, officers attached to North West Metropolitan Region established Operation Blitz to target known domestic violence offenders across Sydney's northwest with over 30 police deployed each day of the operation.
As part of Operation Blitz, officers utilised intel to identify areas of significant concern within North West Metropolitan Region due to their high level of reported domestic incidents.
Following this review, the Mount Druitt area was selected as the first community for Operation Blitz due over one fifth of domestic violence incidents reported in the North West Metropolitan Region occurring in the Mount Druitt area.
Operation Blitz ran between Wednesday 10 September 2025 to Thursday 11 September 2025 and has seen officers – including police attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command, Police Transport Command and Domestic & Family Violence Command – saturate the Mount Druitt and surrounding areas.
During the operation police arrested 18 people resulting in 35 charges.
Officers also seized numerous items including a large machete and a can of capsicum spray.
Assistant Commissioner Gavin Wood APM, Commander of North West Metropolitan Region, commended the efforts of police as the continue to fight against the scourge of domestic violence.
"Domestic violence has no place in our society. These operations demonstrate our commitment to pursuing offenders relentlessly, while acknowledging the strength of victims and ensuring they are never alone.
"Our message is simple, if you commit domestic violence, expect a knock on your door. Operation Blitz is about justice for victims, safety for families, and removing fear from our homes."

INCIDENT ONE. On Wednesday 3 September 2025, a 41-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 12-year-old girl known to him several times at a home in Mount Druitt. On Sunday 7 September 2025, the man allegedly assaulted a woman known to him by pushing her to the ground at a shopping centre on Carlisle Avenue, Mount Druitt. Following inquiries, about 2pm on Wednesday 10 September 2025, officers under Operation Blitz attended a home on Mount Druitt Road, Mount Druitt, and arrested the 41-year-old man. He was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contravene AVO, and two counts of common assault. The man appeared at Mount Druitt Local Court yesterday (Thursday 11 September 2025), where he was refused bail, to reappear at Mount Druitt Local Court on Tuesday 16 December 2025.
INCIDENT TWO. On Thursday 4 September 2025, a 42-year-old man was involved in an argument with a woman known to him during which he allegedly damaged a door. On Tuesday 9 September 2025, the man allegedly assaulted the same woman and threatened her, before leaving the location with her mobile phone. Officers commenced investigations into the incident and, on Wednesday (10 September 2025), the man was arrested at a home on Heavy Street, Werrington. He was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where he was charged with steal from person, common assault, intimidate intend to cause fear of physical harm, and malicious damage. He was granted conditional bail, to appear at Mount Druitt Local Court on Friday 12 December 2025.
INCIDENT THREE. Officers under Operation Blitz commenced investigations after receiving a report on Tuesday 2 September 2025 about a series of allegedly threatening text messages sent to a man by another man known to him during August 2025. Following investigations, a 52-year-old man was arrested at a home on Capparis Circuit, Bidwill and taken to Mount Druitt Police Station. He was charged with use carriage service to menace /harass/offend. The man was refused bail and will appear at Mount Druitt Local Court on Wednesday 22 October 2025.
INCIDENT FOUR. On Friday 5 September 2025, a 25-year-old woman allegedly received threatening text messages from a man known to her, before the man appeared at the woman's home in Shalvey and began yelling. Officers under Operation Blitz were notified and commenced investigations. About 9.50am yesterday (Thursday 11 September 2025) police sighted a 27-year-old man near Ayres Grove, Mount Druitt and attempted to arrest him, when he allegedly resisted arrest. The man was arrested a short time later and searched, when police allegedly located a machete and a can of capsicum spray, which were seized. The man was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station, where he was charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic), hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, and custody of knife in public place - subsequent offence. The man was refused bail, to appear before Mount Druitt Local Court today (Friday 12 September 2025).
