Police have charged two people, following the intercept of a stolen vehicle through Operation Grimlock, an operation targeting late-night property crime across Brisbane's north.
Police, in conjunction with POLAIR and specialist units, sighted an allegedly stolen Volkswagen Tiguan travelling on Gympie Road, Stafford around 1:25am on July 24.
A tyre deflation device was successfully deployed, with the occupants allegedly dumping the vehicle and fleeing on foot.
Police located them near Brookfield Road, Kedron and took them into custody.
It will be further alleged the Volkswagen Tiguan was stolen from Coolah Street, Aspley on July 23.
A 17-year-old Crestmead boy have been charged with 13 offences, including enter dwelling and commit, receiving tainted property, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, enter dwelling with intent, unlawful possession of weapons category A, B or M, fraud, driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence and attempted enter dwelling with intent.
He has been remanded in custody and due to reappear before Brisbane Childrens Court today, July 25.
A 19-year-old Chermside man have been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, enter dwelling with intent by break, unlawful possession of weapons category A, B or M, enter dwelling with intent, receiving tainted property and is due before Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 7.
Investigations are continuing.
