Operation Lockdown, Heatley

Police have charged a man with drug offences following an operation in Heatley overnight.

Around 8pm, police were conducting a static Random Breath Testing site at the intersection of Fulham Road and Mill Drive as part of Operation Lockdown.

A vehicle was stopped, and the driver was behaving suspiciously. Officers searched the vehicle and located 235 grams of cannabis and .65 grams of cocaine and more than $40,000 in cash.

A 41-year-old Oonoonba man has been charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of possessing property suspected of being the proceeds of a drug offence and unlawful possession of restricted drugs.

He is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on October 1.
