Operation Quebec Overwhelm in Cherbourg and Murgon, QLD

Police have charged 27 people with 104 offences following the conclusion of Operation Quebec Overwhelm, a two-day operation focusing on drug and property crime in Cherbourg and Murgon, Queensland Police say.

Officers from Cherbourg and Murgon, along with the assistance of the Moreton Bay Tactical Crime Squad, searched a number of properties on May 22 and May 23 and allegedly located cannabis, cannabis seeds, utensils and restricted liquor.

Officer in Charge of the Murgon CIB Senior Sergeant Lance Guteridge heralded the operation as a success as it was a direct reflection of the efforts of police.

"Operationally, it demonstrated the officers’ diligence to duty and commitment to keeping the community safe," Senior Sergeant Guteridge said.

"Operation Quebec Overwhelm has sent a very clear message to the community in that if you break the law, you will be apprehended."

Police would also like to acknowledge the assistance from the local community in providing information which assisted police in the arrest of 27 people.
