Opportunity to join Council's planning team

Tamworth Regional Council has multiple vacant positions in the Development Division including Development Assessment Planners (senior to graduate roles), Building Surveyor and a new position, Senior Client Advisor (customer engagement role).

This Division plays a significant role in providing timely, lawful and professional town planning and building services to the community and development industry.

Tamworth is experiencing a boom in development locally, but Council has experienced continuous difficulty in hiring into these roles due to a nation-wide shortage of people with these qualifications.

Sam Lobsey, Manager Development said that one of the great things about working at Tamworth Regional Council is the opportunities you have by being in a regional city like Tamworth. "You really do have the benefit of working on a wide range of both urban and rural related projects, compared to the strictly urban, dense environments".

Development in the Tamworth region is moving ahead rapidly, with exciting projects like the Tamworth Global Gateway Park industrial precinct, the new Arcadia (Housing) Estate and plans for new public arts and sporting infrastructure all providing growth opportunities for young planners.

"Tamworth offers a fantastic regional lifestyle, and there are a range of benefits Council has to offer, such as flexible working conditions. We are a dedicated team of community minded professionals and with the current development boom, we really think this is the exciting time to join our team and play a positive role for the community of Tamworth", said Mr Lobsey.

Applications are open now and close on Wednesday, 30 November 2022 at 5pm.
