OSCE, Kyrgyz Border Service Discuss Further Cooperation

On 5 October, Ambassador Volker Frobarth, Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek, met with Abdykarim Alimbaev, Chairman of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The meeting focused on key activities and achievements, with particular attention given to the successful Regional Meeting of Representatives of the Border Services of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Regional Meeting provided an opportunity to the focus to the broader picture - strengthening regional co-cooperation. Facilitate the exchange of practical experience and undertake joint training on the conduct of border guards at the state border, with the support of the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek.

Ambassador Frobarth and Chairman of the State Border Service Alimbaev also discussed plans to hold a meeting with the border authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan by the end of 2026.

They also expressed their commitment to continuing constructive co-operation in the area of border security and management.
