OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Christophe Kamp visited Kosovo from 23 to 27 March 2026 to continue his engagement with the authorities and non-majority communities on matters related to his mandate.
In Prishtinë/Priština, Kamp met with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Communities and Returns Minister Nenad Rašić, Internal Affairs Minister Xhelal Sveçla, and Culture and Tourism Minister Saranda Bogujevci. He also met with representatives of the Kosovo Women's Network, a civil society organization.
In his meetings, the High Commissioner discussed the topic of consultations between the authorities and non-majority communities, particularly in the context of the recent implementation of laws and policies that directly affect specific communities. He also touched on the question of compliance with the legal framework on the use of languages, as well as cultural remembrance in public spaces.
The visit took place subsequent to municipal elections, which provided an opportunity for the High Commissioner to engage with new officials at the local level and discuss matters related to inter-community relations in specific regions. Kamp visited the municipalities of Deçan/Dečane, Istog/Istok, North Mitrovicë/Mitrovica, Pejë/Peć, Zubin Potok and Zvečan/Zveçan, where he met with mayors, education institutions and community representatives.
