OSU Board of Trustees and Committees to meet January 28-29

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State University Board of Trustees will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m on Friday, Jan. 29, 2021. Given COVID-19 guidance from the governor's office, as well as university and county health officials, the meeting will be hosted through a remote conferencing service

The board will consider the university's 10-year business forecast, amendments to investment policies, and an adjustment to winter 2021 term incidental fees for students attending OSU-Cascades. The board also will hear briefings on the university's implementation of Strategic Plan 4.0, the 2021 Oregon legislative session, and discussions around turning the Elliott State Forest into a research forest.

This meeting is open to the public. Options for joining the meeting and instructions for providing comment during the board meeting's general comment period and in a testimony period held before the board votes on each action item are located under "Meeting Details" at this webpage.

On Jan. 29, there will be a joint meeting of the board's Executive and Audit and Finance and Administration committees from 9 to 9:30 a.m. to consider a fiscal year 2020 external audit annual report.

Board committees will meet via remote conferencing services on Thursday, Jan. 28. These meetings are open to the public:

  • The Executive and Audit Committee will meet from 8 to 9:30 a.m. to consider the Office of Audit, Risk and Compliance's 2020 final progress report and 2021 annual plan. The committee also will host a panel discussion regarding risk management and hear a report on public safety.
  • The Academic Strategies Committee will meet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to discuss the university's efforts related to sexual harassment and violence education, prevention and response. The committee also will hear briefings on Extension and engagement and research.
  • The Finance and Administration Committee will meet from 1:30 to 5 p.m. to consider quarterly financial reports; the university's 10-year business forecast; an adjustment to winter 2021 term incidental fees for students attending OSU-Cascades; amendments to investment policies; and capital projects related to Graf Hall, Fairbanks Hall, an Arts and Education Complex and Reser Stadium. The committee will discuss budget planning and preliminary tuition scenarios for fiscal year 2021.
