Ottoway service station robbery

Police are investigating a service station attempted robbery at Ottoway this early this morning.

About 4.30am on Tuesday 28 November, patrols were called to a petrol station on Grand Junction Road at Ottoway after reports of a robbery.

A suspect entered the store and placed an orange bag on the counter, and then he raised a large knife in the air and stated "give me the money".

The staff member backed away from the counter and advised he was calling the police. The suspect picked up the bag and ran out the store empty handed. He was last seen heading in a northerly direction down Eastern Parade.

The staff member wasn't physically injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as being approximately 183cm tall. He was wearing black 'Kappa' pants, a black hooded jumper with 'Nike' logos on the chest, black 'Nike' shoes, a mask covering his face and black and red gloves.

Western District Detectives are investigating the incident and are seeking assistance from members of the public who may have witnessed this matter.
