Have you had your say in the 'Our Community Parks Survey'? Rockhampton Regional Council is encouraging all residents to take the survey before it closes 31 May.

Parks Sport and Public Spaces Councillor Cherie Rutherford says this is the time for people to share their feedback on their local community parks and the facilities within them.

"So far, the community have been very forthcoming with their responses and they have provided some terrific feedback, but with only one week to go, we are putting the call out for more people to jump in and complete the survey before it closes," Cr Rutherford said.

"We want to make sure that we are hearing from as many people as possible to ensure we have the information we need to help guide our maintenance and planning priorities.

"We know that the Botanic Gardens, Fraser Park, Kershaw Gardens, Cedric Archer Park and the likes, are important assets for our region, but equally as important, are the little local parks dotted around our communities.

"Whether it is taking the kids to the playground, getting in some exercise, walking the dog, having a BBQ, or holding a birthday party, we all use these spaces for so many different reasons.

"It is really important that we understand not only how people use these spaces, but also how they feel about the condition of our parks and the facilities within them.

"We take pride in our parks and public spaces and we want to make sure that they meet the needs of our community now and for generations to come."
