Our fire management plan -City of Casey

Since the February 2009 fires, the City of Casey has taken actions either as a direct response to the Royal Commission findings or to ensure Council is prepared for future events of this nature, including:

  • Seven neighbourhood safer places
  • Fire prevention team
  • Fire management planning
  • Tracking shifting bushfire-prone areas
  • Enhancing emergency management protocols and processes in terms of how Council supports response agencies and communities in times of emergency
  • Advocating on behalf of at-risk communities for better resourcing
  • Becoming involved in regional and state level fire and emergency management planning
