"The results in Townsville showcase the exceptional work being done by local officers in collaboration with specialist units.

"An example of specialist capabilities supporting local police was over the weekend when the mounted unit visited Townsville, enhancing high-visibility patrols across public areas and the Safe Night District.

"While Operation Forge is centrally coordinated it is locally-led, with operations leveraging the knowledge and experience of our Townsville officers who know their community best.

"Our officers will continue disrupting and preventing crime through intelligence-driven, high visibility and covert tactics.

"We are grateful to the community for their continued support in our efforts to disrupt property offending, and remind them to stay alert, report suspicious behaviour and take practical steps to protect their homes and neighbourhoods," said Chief Superintendent Lawson.
