Over 200 cannabis plants found after house fire at Auburn

Police have seized more than 200 cannabis plants following a house fire in Auburn this morning.

Emergency services were called to a home on Northumberland Road shortly after 7.30am (Sunday 31 March 2019), after reports of a house fire.

On arrival police and Fire and Rescue NSW officers found a home well alight and worked to extinguish the blaze.

Upon closer inspection, officers located an indoor hydroponic set-up at the rear of the property.

Officers removed 236 cannabis plants from the home.

Inquiries continue by officers from Auburn Police District; no charges have yet been laid.
