Over 40 Charged for Property Crimes in Capricornia

Operation Crosscut continues to detect and deter property offending with more than 40 people charged with 199 offences over the past month.

The District-led operation focusing on proactive efforts to disrupt property offending and reduce victimisation has seen several high-risk property crime offenders arrested to date for offences relating to burglary, robbery, enter and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing and wilful damage.

On 27 November, a man and woman, both aged 20, were arrested following a traffic crash on Talford Street at Rockhampton.

The pair allegedly fled from the vehicle and were tracked by a police dog before being taken into custody a short time later at a Campbell Street address.

A 20-year-old Berserker man has been charged with four counts of stealing, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and one count each of wilful damage, burglary, trespassing, enter and commit, receiving tainted property and driving unlicensed.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear before Rockhampton Magistrates Court on 12 December.

A 20-year-old Murarrie woman has been charged with two counts each of stealing, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and receiving tainted property, and one count of trespassing.

She is due to reappear before Rockhampton Magistrates Court on 13 January 2026.
