Oxley Man Speechless After $1.2M Lotto Win

An Oxley man has been rendered speechless by the surprise call of a lifetime telling him he'd snagged $1.2 million in the weekend's Saturday Gold Lotto draw.

The Brisbane resident held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4703 on Saturday 15 August 2026. Each division one winning entry pocketed $1,086,418.14.

So far in 2026, Brisbane's western suburbs have had four major lottery wins that have collectively taken home more than $43 million in prize money.

"Thank you so much!" he cheered when we rang this morning.

"Gosh, that's fantastic. That's just great.

"I had no idea. It's even better to hear it out of the blue.

"I've used these same numbers for a long time now. This is such a shock.

"Sorry, I'm lost for words. It's going to take a while to sink in."

When asked how the win would make a difference, the kind-hearted man immediately thought of helping others.

"I can do a lot for family and friends," he said.

"It'll make life easier for sure.

"Have a great day! I'm certainly having a great one now!"

His winning System 7 entry was purchased at Oxley News, The Station Shopping Centre, Shop 7B, 133-157 Oxley Station Road, Oxley.

Oxley News manager Naomi Samper said she and the team were thrilled to sell a division one winning entry.
