Oxley Police Charge Man, Seize Car in Illegal Hunting Probe

A man will face court charged following an investigation into illegal hunting in the state's north.

In December 2023, officers attached to the Rural Crime Prevention Team commenced an investigation into reports of illegal hunting, in the area of Bulga and Orange Grove Road, Kelvin, about 20km north of Gunnedah.

Following inquiries, about 10.20am yesterday (Tuesday 27 February 2024), officers attended a business in Gunnedah and spoke to a 21-year-old man before seizing a white Holden Colorado.

About 10am today (Wednesday 28 February 2024), the man was issued a future court attendance notice for two counts of enter agricultural land with hunting dog – aggravated, and two counts of enter private land to hunt animal without owner consent.

He will appear at Gunnedah Local Court on Tuesday 2 April 2024.
