Police have nabbed a man allegedly speeding in Wangaratta only hours after receiving his probationary drivers licence.
Wangaratta Highway Patrol detected the P plate driver travelling at 142km/h in a 100km/h zone on Greta Road about 11pm on Wednesday 25 September.
Police intercepted the Ford sedan and discovered the 20-year-old driver had received his licence earlier that afternoon.
The Wangaratta man was issued an infringement notice for $702 and a six-month loss of licence.
