Pair arrested following PolAir pursuit, South Australia

A man and woman have been arrested following a pursuit with a stolen car overnight.

Just before 1am on Thursday 24 January, patrols spotted a stolen Toyota sedan on Kings Road at Paralowie with two occupants.

Police did not pursue the car and maintained observation from a distance. PolAir was airborn a short time later locating the car on Fitzroy Terrace near Jeffcott Street at North Adelaide.

PolAir pursued the car from the air as it drove through a number of suburbs before being spiked near the intersection of Oaklands Road and Marion Road at Park Holme.

Patrols quickly arrested the passenger while the driver ran off but was arrested a short distance away.

A 30-year-old woman from Para Hills West was charged with illegal use while the driver, a 42-year-old man from Adelaide was charged with drive unlicenced, illegal use, unlawful possession and a number of other traffic related matters.

He has been refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court later today.

The woman has been bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 6 March.
