Pair charged following Tatura armed robbery

Armed Crime Squad detectives have charged two people after a gaming venue was robbed in Tatura last year, Victoria Police say.

Two female staff members were closing up at the Gowrie Street venue about 10pm on 7 December, 2016 when they were allegedly approached by a group of three offenders.

The offenders, who were armed with a firearm and a knife, demanded cash from the victims.

A quantity of money was taken and the men left the venue.

A 37-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man were arrested and remanded last night.

They have both been charged with armed robbery.

The Tatura woman will appear at the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on 8 May.

The Hallam man will face the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
