Pair Charged in Geelong West Burglary Spree

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two men following a string of burglaries in Geelong West over the last week.

Investigators allege two men gained access to several businesses along Pakington, Weller and Hope streets in the early hours of 9 through 15 of July.

It is alleged the following items were stolen from the businesses across the week:

- jewellery to the value of approximately $50,000

- hair dressing and barber equipment

- eyebrow tattooing equipment

- cosmetic products

- iPads and iPhones

Following a thorough investigation, detectives arrested two men in Geelong West this afternoon and seized iPhones, jewellery, hairdressing and barber tools, hair care products, cash and drugs.

A 44-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with handle stolen goods, as well as drug and weapons offences.

A 28-year-old Geelong man was charged with (5x) burglary, attempted burglary and (x5) criminal damage.

The 28-year-old was remanded to appear before Geelong Magistrates' Court on 16 July.

The 44-year-old was bailed to appear before Geelong Magistrates' Court on 4 September.
