Pair charged over Cranbourne bus driver assault

Police have charged a man and a woman following an assault on a bus driver in Cranbourne in January, Victoria Police say.

The incident happened on the Cranbourne-Frankston Road on Thursday 25 January when a young boy attempted to board the bus with a bicycle.

The bus driver was explaining to the boy that he couldn’t get on with this bicycle when a man and a woman got on the bus and allegedly assaulted the driver.

The driver, a 40-year-old woman, received minor injuries in the assault.

A 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, both from Cranbourne East, have been interviewed over the incident and are expected to be charged on summons with assault and recklessly cause injury.
