Pair charged over stabbings in Redfern

A man and woman have been charged after two people were stabbed at Redfern overnight.

Emergency services were called to a unit block in Walker Street shortly after midnight (Sunday 22 April 2018), and found a 35-year-old woman suffering multiple stab wounds, NSW Police say.

They also found a 40-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest.

The woman was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital while the man was taken to Royal Prince Alfred for treatment.

Officers from Redfern Police Area Command attended the scene and arrested a man and woman nearby.

They were taken to Redfern Police Station.

The 31-year-old woman was charged with specially aggravated enter dwelling with intent – inflict grievous bodily harm; and resist or hinder police officer in execution of duty.

The 33-year-old man was charged with specially aggravated enter dwelling with intent – inflict grievous bodily harm.

Both were bail refused to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 22 April 2018).

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
