Pair escape injury after Modbury crash, South Australia

A man and woman have escaped serious injury after a crash at Modbury today.

About 1.50pm, police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Glenere Drive and North East Road, after reports that a car had left the road and crashed into a bus stop and a fence. The vehicle then caught fire.

The driver, a 57-year-old man from Ferryden Park and his passenger, a 51-year-old woman from Largs Bay managed to get out of the car, and the fire was extinguished soon after.

The male driver was treated at the scene by paramedics, and the crash is being investigated by local traffic police. Both occupants were taken to Modbury Hospital as a precaution.
