Parking infringement reviews to be reconsidered at Mildura

Residents who unsuccessfully applied to have a parking infringement reviewed between 1 July 2007 and 31 May 2019 may be eligible for a refund of their infringement.

This is an outcome of a recent investigation by the Victorian Ombudsman into parking infringement reviews by Victorian Councils, which found that for some municipalities the process for parking infringement reviews may not have been undertaken in accordance with the Infringements Act 2006.

In Mildura Rural City Council's case, the issue applies to unsuccessful parking infringement reviews received between 1 July 2007 and 31 May 2019 that were subsequently paid.

Council's updated parking infringement review process has addressed and rectified this issue. Residents who applied to have a parking infringement reviewed between 2007 and 2019, and were unsuccessful, can apply to Council for a refund of the paid infringement by visiting www.mildura.vic.gov.au/parkinginfringements and providing the requested details.

Council will make contact with applicants regarding their parking infringement, and where applicable, provide a refund.
