A critical incident investigation is underway following a crash involving a police vehicle in Sydney's west.
About 7:15pm today, Monday October 27, 2025, emergency services were called to the intersection of Church Street and Parramatta Road, Parramatta following reports of a crash involving a police vehicle.
On arrival, officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command located a marked police vehicle which had crashed into a guard rail.
The police vehicle was under lights and sirens on the way to a priority incident at the time.
The driver, a 24-year-old Constable was uninjured. He was subjected to a roadside breath test which returned a negative result.
The passenger, a 23-year-old Probationary Constable was trapped for a short time before being released by NSW Fire and Rescue officers.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a serious arm injury before being taken to
Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.
A crime scene was established and a critical incident team from Fairfield City Police Area Command will investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.
The investigation will be subject of an independent review by the Professional Standards Command and oversight by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission.
