Free films, festivals, workshops and art exhibitions are on offer to young people from The Hills Shire to enjoy in celebration of Youth Week 2024.

Youth Week is held state-wide in April each year with activities organised by young people, for young people from 11 to 21 April.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Peter Gangemi said it's important to acknowledge the positive contribution of young people and their role in shaping community life.

"We're offering a range of participation opportunities, so we have favourite events returning along with exciting new activities," Mayor Gangemi said.

"This year's theme is 'express, empower, get loud' and we're encouraging young people to do just that by getting involved, connecting, trying new things and exploring their interests.

"I'd like to thank everyone involved in organising this year's Youth Week activities including Hills Community Aid, Uniting, Rouse Hill Town Centre, Youth Rezolutions, Event Cinemas Castle Towers, Reading Cinemas, our Creative Arts Competition sponsors, the Hills Youth Army and our Youth Ambassadors."
