Passenger dies in crash at Tingha

A man has died in a single-vehicle crash in the state's west yesterday.

About 4pm on Saturday (9 September 2023), emergency services were called to Grove Road, Tingha, after reports a utility had left the road and rolled a number of times before coming to rest on its roof.

The driver, a 53-year-old woman, managed to free herself from the vehicle and contacted emergency services.

A passenger, a 55-year-old man, died at the scene.

The driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from New England Police District have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the information of Coroner.
