Passing of Tony Hardy

Kiama Council

Tony Hardy at the Fiver for a Farmer BBQ

Kiama Council will be lowering our flags on Manning St this Monday (13 February), to mark the passing of our long-serving Manager of Waste Services, Tony Hardy.

Tony gave our organisation loyal and dedicated service for 50 years, starting in 1973 as a plant operator and semi-trailer driver before assuming responsibility for our Minnamurra and Gerroa waste and recycling facilities.

Tony was also active for many years in the NSW Rural Fire Service and SES , receiving the inaugural Robert East Award for his volunteering efforts.

He will be greatly mourned and missed by all of us at Council and in the community.

The funeral service is being held at Stan Crapp Funeral Home on Monday at 10am.

Some of our waste collection services on Monday will occur earlier than normal, to allow staff to attend the service.
