Paynesville Marina Berths Open for Early Interest

Recreational boaters can secure a berth at the new Slip Road Maritime Precinct in Paynesville, with East Gippsland Shire Council opening expressions of interest.

The new marina will deliver a significant increase in berthing capacity, with berths ranging from 12 metres to 28 metres. Council will manage the berths in line with its other marinas across the region.

Mayor Cr Jodie Ashworth said the EOI process gives the community an early opportunity to be part of the region's newest boating facility.

"Demand for berths across the Gippsland Lakes continues to grow, and this new marina will help meet that need with a modern, fit-for-purpose facility," Cr Ashworth said.

"Opening expressions of interest now allows us to understand demand and keep interested boaters informed as we finalise fees and allocation processes."

The EOI process is open to anyone interested in securing a recreational berth and can be completed on Council's website by filling out the Slip Road Maritime Precinct Expression of Interest Form, or by submitting a hard copy at Council service centres.

Council's Commercial Business team will contact applicants once fees and charges have been confirmed through the Council budget process.

The new marina includes two floating berthing jetties, with final fit-out works continuing over the coming months. Each berth will have access to power and water, along with gated access.

The project is funded by the Australian Government, Victorian Government and Council, and is guided by the Paynesville Maritime Precinct Masterplan.

This investment supports the growth of local towns, strengthens the marine industry and increases access to boating on the Gippsland Lakes.
