PD Axe makes collar

A man has been arrested after he was spotted running from a construction site at Elizabeth South overnight.

At around 12.30am, Sunday 20 March, patrols were called to a service station under construction on Phillip Highway, after reports of a man on the property. When patrols arrived, they spotted a man run off and jump fences. A search failed to locate the man.

Then around 2am, patrols were called back to the same location after reports he had returned. Patrols were quickly on scene setting up cordons with PD Axe and his handler tracked the suspect to a house in Moffman Road where he was found hiding in the front yard.

The 44-year-old from Port Lincoln was charged with unlawfully on premises, possess housebreaking implement and unlawful possession after he was found with a lock picking kit and a number of personal cards in different names. He has been bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 20 April.
