Pedestrian critical after being struck by car in Auburn

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a pedestrian was struck in Sydney’s west, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to Rawson Street, Auburn, just after 10am today (Monday 11 December 2017), following reports a man had been hit by a Toyota Corolla.

The 60-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital with critical injuries.

The driver of the car, a 50-year-old man, was taken to Auburn Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Flemington Local Area Command with the assistance of Crash Investigation Unit established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police are urging anyone who has not yet spoken to police, or who may have footage to come forward and contact Auburn Police Station via Crime Stoppers.
