Pedestrian critical after crash at Parramatta

An elderly pedestrian has been seriously injured following a crash in Sydney's west yesterday.

Emergency services were called to a carpark on Fleet Street, near Eastern Circuit, North Parramatta, about 11.20am (Tuesday 15 June 2021) to reports a pedestrian had been struck by car.

Police have been told a white Toyota Yaris struck a 92-year-old pedestrian, seriously injuring him.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Westmead Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command established a crime scene and specialist investigators from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The driver of the Toyota, a 54-year-old man, was uninjured and taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing; he later attended Parramatta Police Station to assist police with their inquiries.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, or has dashcam footage, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
