Pedestrian critically injured at Carrara, QLD

Police are appealing for public assistance after a 28-year-old man was critically injured during an incident at Carrara last night, Queensland Police say.

Just after 8pm, police received a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of The Boulevarde and Grande Avenue.

The man sustained what appeared to be minor injuries, however, his condition deteriorated overnight and he is now in a critical condition at the Gold Coast University Hospital.

Initial inquiries indicate the man had earlier confronted drivers in two separate vehicles, who are not believed to be known to him. The man reportedly threatened one driver with a rock and mounted another vehicle.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the altercations, or who may have dashcam footage of the area from around 8.00pm to 8.20pm on Wednesday June 20, to contact police.
