A man has died after being struck by a car in Sydney's southwest today.
About 4pm (Friday 8 May 2026), emergency services were called to Hughes Street, Cabramatta, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and were told a pedestrian had been struck by a car.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the pedestrian; however, he could not be revived and died at the scene.
He is yet to be formally identified.
The driver of the car – a 51-year-old man – was not injured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Police have established a crime scene which will be forensically examined by specialist police attached to the Crash Investgation Unit.
Traffic diversions are in place, and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
