Pedestrian dies after hit and run crash at Wudinna

A woman has died following a crash at Wudinna last week.

Just before 8pm on Saturday 27 May, police were called to the Eyre Highway in the township of Wudinna, near the intersection with Rashleigh Road, after reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a road train.

The truck did not stop at the scene and continued west on the Eyre Highway out of Wudinna. A second truck also heading west drove past a short time later.

The pedestrian, a 42-year-old woman from the Far West of the State, sadly died at Royal Adelaide Hospital, yesterday 31 May.

The woman's death is 58th life lost on SA road's compared with 33 at the same time last year.

Police are appealing for the truck drivers to come forward, or any further witnesses with information that may assist to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
