Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision which occurred in Coburg this evening, Victoria Police say.
It is believed a woman stepped out onto Nicholson Street and was struck by a car about 8.45pm.
Paramedics attended however the 58-year-old Brunswick East woman died at the scene.
The male driver of the car stopped and is assisting police at the scene.
The driver and his two passengers did not suffer any injuries in the collision.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
