Pedestrian dies following Cranbourne collision

Police are appealing for public assistance to help identify a woman who has died following a collision in Cranbourne this morning, Victoria Police say.

The woman was struck by an east bound truck on Sladen Street, near the intersection of Fairbairn Road about 1.30am.

The driver of the vehicle, a 22-year-old man, was not injured and stopped immediately to render assistance.

The pedestrian, who cannot be identified, came from the northern side of Sladen Street near Valepark Crescent.

She is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in her early 30s, wearing a green top, size ten grey tracksuit pants and grey and black Nike flywire runners.

Police are urging anyone who may know the woman to call Cranbourne Police Station on 5991 0600 or Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol on 9767 7419.
