Pedestrian dies in collision at Coburg

Fawkner Highway Patrol officers are investigating after a pedestrian died in Coburg early this morning.

It is believed a man was crossing Bell Street, near Davis Street, when he was struck by a blue Hyundai sedan travelling east bound just before 7am.

The pedestrian, an 85-year-old Coburg man, died at the scene.

The male driver stopped at the scene and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage.
