Pedestrian dies in hospital after Braybrook collision

A woman hit by a van in Braybrook earlier this week has died in hospital.

Police have been told a woman and a man had just gotten out of a taxi when the woman ran across Ballarat Road and was struck by a vehicle about 9.15pm on Wednesday 9 December.

The woman, a 34-year-old from Williamstown, was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Sadly, she later died from her injuries.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene and has been interviewed by police.

The male passenger in the taxi, who is yet to be identified, left the scene before police arrived.
