Pedestrian Dies In Hospital After Crash - Bexley

A man has died in hospital after being hit by a car in Sydney's south earlier this week.

About 9.30am Friday (15 May 2026), emergency services were called to the intersection Forest Road and Queen Victoria Street, Bexley, following reports a man had been struck by a car.

Officers attached to St George Police Area Command attended and were told a man believed to be crossing the road was struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian – a 70-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a head injury, before being taken to hospital in a serious condition.

The driver – a 23-year-old man – was taken to St George Hospital for St George Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established and investigations into the circumstances of the crash were commenced.

Today (Sunday 17 May 2026), police were told the 70-year-old had died in hospital.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
