Pedestrian Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash

A pedestrian has been seriously injured after a fail to stop crash in Sydney's south west.

About 7.25am today (Monday 14 July 2025), emergency services responded to reports of a pedestrian hit by a car at the intersection of Woodville Road and Kirrang Avenue, Villawood.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the woman – believed to be aged in her 20's – at the scene before she was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

Officers from Fairfield Police Area Command established a crime scene that is currently being examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Police have been informed that the woman was on a pedestrian crossing when she was hit by a blue Hyundai hatch back.

The driver failed to stop, and the vehicle was last seen driving south along Woodville Road.

Woodville Road south bound is currently closed between Christiana Street and the Hume Highway (Meccano Set). There is also a partial closure of one north bound lane.

Traffic diversions have been implemented and motorists are urged to avoid the area as the roadway is expected to remain a crime scene for a considerable amount of time.
